Hamilton Pool preserve located in the Texas Hill Country which is a local Austin treasure. The pool is surrounded by a large area of protected wilderness, featuring hiking trails and a variety of plant and animal life. The preserve is home to a diverse ecosystem, including trees such as bald cypress and juniper, as well as a variety of bird species, such as the golden-cheeked warbler, black-capped vireo, and the red-shouldered hawk. The swimming hole is fed by a natural underground river and the water is crystal clear and cool. The pool is open seasonally and has a limited capacity.
